IPEG Research lab to investigate cybersecurity and resiliency of grid of microgrids.

The project entitled “2MC: Midwest Center for Microgrid Cybersecurity” is selected for funding by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for $2.5 Million (2024-2026). 2MC will develop and demonstrate a set of new tools for improving the microgrid cyber resilience and corrective actions.

The project collaborators are Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Illinois Chicago, COMED, and Argonne National Laboratory. The project is led by Prof. Mohammad Shahidehpour at Illinois Institute of Technology, Prof. Shadmand will serve as Co-Principal Investigator.
